Been experimenting starting from a mid-tone watercolour wash, allowing me to go straight in with the highlights (gouache.) Outside of life drawing I almost always start from a mid-tone, so its felt a lot more natural. I quite like the effect!
I played a little bit before with just having coloured backgrounds, but it didn't compare to the practicality of getting the mid-tone of the skin down first.
Had a lovely giant flower themed session at the picture house in crouch, was nice to get some props in there! Luce May Model Had a very muscular model come in at the session from work. Interesting to draw somebody with such a defined physique.
Had a good run of male models this month which was a nice change! Around 10-15mins a pose.
